Veterinarian with a PhD at INSERM, Thierry Lefrancois has worked for more than twenty years at CIRAD on the diagnosis, epidemiology and control of tropical infectious animal diseases in Burkina Faso, Kenya and Guadeloupe.
Veterinarian with a PhD at INSERM, Thierry Lefrancois has worked for more than twenty years at CIRAD on the diagnosis, epidemiology and control of tropical infectious animal diseases in Burkina Faso, Kenya and Guadeloupe.
Hi research activities are focused on the emergence of diseases and the development of interactions between research and surveillance within the framework of regional health networks in the South.
He currently heads CIRAD’s Biological Systems Department (BIOS), which brings together research units working in animal health, plant health, plan adaptation and biodiversity and promotes an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to health within the framework of the “One Health” concept.
He is currently member of the Scientific Council in France.
