
Serge MORAND
Evolutionary specialist in ecology and parasitologist by training, Serge Morand conducts research in social-ecology of health in Southeast Asia on the links between biodiversity (conservation biology) health (parasitic, infectious and zoonotic diseases, antibiotic, resistance, pesticides) and global changes (climate change, agronomic intensification, urbanisation) in a One Health / Planetary Health approach.
Between 2008 and 2020, Serge Morand organised more than thirty field missions to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines and Vietnam, acquiring solid expertise in fieldwork in collaboration with communities and local administrations (hospitals, agriculture, animal health), national administrations (public health, animal health, national parks) and the universities and research centres.
Serge Morand is researcher at the CNRS and visiting Professeur at the Faculty of Tropical Medicine of Mahidol and at the Faculty of Veterinary Technology of Kasetsart University (Thailand).
