Working Groups

The International Working Groups (IWG) of the OSH Forum were launched on 7 July 2021 from the Euronews studios in Lyon.

For 16 months, the thematic IWG will meet to debate and share their knowledge around One Health. They will have to formulate cross-cutting operational recommendations that can be implemented on the ground and will allow public policies to be adapted. The set of operational recommendations from the thematic IWG will make it possible to publish the One Sustainable Health Declaration at the World Health Summit 2022 in Berlin.

Each IWG includes different types of members: researchers (1/3), operators (1/3), regulators (1/3). Members participate as individuals and not as representatives of their institutions.

Permanent members will remain in the groups until the end.

> Each group is made up of 20 to 25 voluntary experts from various professional backgrounds and from the fields of human, animal and environmental health. They will also be selected to meet a balance of gender and geographic representation. Experts are requested to meet at least once a month for a discussion session.

> In order to facilitate the organisation, each group has a rapporteur and a coordinator. The rapporteur’s task is to transcribe in writing the ideas and proposals discussed. The coordinator is responsible for coordinating meetings (calendar, logistics, etc.).

> Several representatives -Co-chairs- are chosen from among the members of the groups. They participate in the constitution of the Working Groups, organize and animate the meetings and guarantee the good conduct of the Group. These representatives are also part of Group 6+1, Group 7, in order to ensure the interdisciplinarity of the Working Groups.  Representatives are asked to participate in at least two meetings per month: the one with the Working Group and the one with Group 7.

Complementary (non-permanent) members provide an opportunity for knowledge exchange to enrich discussions.

               > Contributors may be called upon by the Working Groups to participate in dialogue or writing on a specific topic through their knowledge and experience. They are not limited in number and their participation is decided by the Working Groups.

               > Followers are people interested in the OSH Forum and want to follow the discussions. That way, they can take part in the discussions, present their ideas, but it is up to the groups to decide to accept participation in the meetings and incorporate the suggestions into their thinking.

groupes

The groups work around a specific work axis.

  • IWG 1: Mitigating the Impact of Environmental Pollution, Climate Change and Pressure on Biodiversity to promote Better Health Outcomes
  • IWG 2: Towards Sustainable Food Systems for Improved Nutrition and Health
  • IWG 3: How must human interaction / relationship with nature transform to achieve One Sustainable Health ?
  • IWG 4: Equitable Access to Quality Health-related Services
  • IWG 5: Financing & Global Levers of Change to foster One Sustainable Health
  • IWG 6: Developing OSH Practices & Resilience within Local Communities
  • 6+1 Committee: Committee formulating a common vision

Around their theme, the Working Groups must carry out a precise contextualization work. They must therefore gather the scientific evidence and summarize the main challenges to the implementation of actions on Sustainable Health and identify the stakeholders.

They must also consider key areas throughout their work that will be reflected in the final recommendations :

  • The field of advocacy: a global vision and an integrated approach
  • The field of operational recommendations and projects: focus on implementation
  • The field of research: a strategic agenda for interdisciplinary research
  • The field of education and communication: share knowledge, facilitate behavioural change and increase awareness
  • The field of ethics: common values.
